Meeting Rundown
The Iowa Board of Regents will meet April 23-24 at the ISU Alumni Center in Ames. Selected agenda items are outlined in brief below. Open session portions of the meeting will be livestreamed on the Board’s YouTube channel. View the full agenda here.
Meeting Background
The April meeting is the first on-campus meeting of the calendar year. This year, the Board will hear a first reading of tuition and fee rates for the forthcoming academic year.
The Board sets tuition rates over the course of two public meetings. During the initial meeting, the Regents hear a first reading of proposed tuition and fee rates. No action is taken during this meeting. The second meeting, held a month or more after the first, sees the Board take action and vote on the proposed tuition and fee rates. This deliberate process, required by Iowa Code, allows students and families to plan for the future and provides ample opportunity for public discussion.

In addition, the committee will receive the annual tenure report and requests and receive a report on supporting first-generation students. Further, UNI will present its request to restructure its College of Education and reorganize five departments into four.
