Iowa’s Public Universities Named Home Base Iowa Certified Higher Academic Military Partners

November 24, 2014

(URBANDALE, IA) – Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds announced today the designation of Iowa’s public universities as Home Base Iowa Certified Higher Academic Military Partners (CHAMPs).

The CHAMPs designation recognizes the universities’ efforts to educate and assist veterans on their campuses. This certification will help the universities promote their veteran-friendly campuses and their many veteran support services and programs that earned the universities this important designation. The certification will be indicated on the universities’ web sites. “We are honored to receive this designation from the state as the universities have made it a priority to provide the necessary resources to support the needs of our student veterans,” said Board of Regents President Bruce Rastetter.

“We are happy to welcome them home to our universities and to be part of this important support network,” added President Rastetter.
