Board of Regents Newsletter: July Newsletter

The Board of Regents, State of Iowa approved an amended proposal for tuition increases for the three Regent Institutions, effective for the fall 2016 semester. The proposal, which originally included a $300 increase in undergraduate resident tuition, was amended to include only a $250 increase. The motion passed unanimously.

 

The Board of Regents approved a Strategic Plan for 2016-21 at the July meeting. The plan will provide guidance and direction regarding priorities, goals, and objectives.

Iowa School for the Deaf and Iowa Educational Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired continue providing the state’s youngest learners with specialized education to prepare them for independent futures.

Enrollment soared in fall 2015 as Iowa State University recorded its ninth consecutive year of enrollment growth.

The University of Northern Iowa experienced a 7.9-percent increase in new students during the fall 2015 semester, bringing total enrollment to 11,981.
