Statement from Board of Regents President Mike Richards on the Passing of Regent Milt Dakovich

On behalf of the Board of Regents, I send our condolences to Milt’s wife, Kim, and their family.

Milt had a huge passion for higher education, and served with distinction as a Regent for nearly a decade. He was mindful of decisions that we would make and their potential impact on students, both current and future.

Milt was a truly kind person. He was such a pleasure to be around and always offered words of encouragement and support. He was willing to listen respectfully to other opinions and show grace and humility. When challenges arose, Milt was always the first to ask how he could help. His wisdom, counsel and wit cannot be replaced.

Milt was a good and trusted friend, and he will be dearly missed.
