Statement from Board of Regents President Michael Richards on International Travel

March 11, 2021

On March 5, 2020, in response to COVID-19, the Board of Regents issued a university-sponsored international travel ban for all faculty, staff and students until further notice.

Conditions related to COVID-19 continue to improve. In consideration of these sustained improvements, and in accordance with the authority granted to the President of the Board of Regents in Board Policy Manual 1.1.E, I am hereby lifting the Board of Regents international travel ban effective immediately.

As of now, decisions regarding university-sponsored student, faculty and staff travel shall be made by the president of each university.

The overall State of Emergency for the Regents Universities issued on March 18, 2020 remains in effect, including any other policies and administrative rules that have been waived due to the pandemic.
