Dr. Jean Robillard to Chair UI Presidential Search Committee
In response to the recent retirement announcement from UI President Sally Mason, the Board of Regents is moving forward with development of the Presidential Search and Screen Committee to undertake the search process and recommend to the Board its candidates for a new president for the University of Iowa. The Board has selected Jean E. Robillard, M.D., Vice President for Medical Affairs at the University of Iowa, to chair the search committee.
As Vice President for Medical Affairs, Dr. Robillard oversees UI Health Care which consists of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Carver College of Medicine, and University of Iowa Physicians which is the state’s largest multi-specialty physician group practice.
Dr. Robillard has held his current position since January 2007 after previously serving four years as dean of the Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Robillard's full biography and a high-resolution portrait can be found at the following link – http://www.uihealthcare.org/about.aspx?id=15632. “Dr. Robillard is a strong leader on campus and is well-respected across the state. He will make an excellent chair of the presidential search committee,” said Board of Regents President Bruce Rastetter.
Under Dr. Robillard’s leadership, UI Health Care implemented its first ever strategic plan for the integrated enterprise and has expanded medical services to better meet the needs of Iowa’s communities.
The Board of Regents is a group of nine citizen volunteers who govern the state’s three public universities and two special K-12 schools – the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School – through policymaking, coordination, and oversight.
