Board President Expresses Disappointment with House Action on Education Bill

April 30, 2015

Board of Regents President Bruce Rastetter has the following reaction to the passage of the Education Appropriations budget bill by the Iowa House of Representatives.

"The Board is disappointed with the refusal of the House of Representatives to implement Performance Based Funding," stated President Rastetter. "The Board’s Performance Based Funding proposal was designed to be a long-term solution to a decades old funding inequity among the three public universities."

"The Board looks forward to continuing to work with the Governor and the General Assembly to secure necessary funding to guarantee a third straight tuition freeze for undergraduate resident students," added President Rastetter.
