Board of Regents Announces Second Finalist for UNI Presidency

Today the Board of Regents, State of Iowa announced the second finalist in the search for the next president of the University of Northern Iowa.

Jim Wohlpart, Ph.D., interim president at the University of Northern Iowa, will be on campus on Wednesday, November 30 to meet with faculty, staff, students and members of the community. Wohlpart’s curriculum vitae and his full interview schedule are available on the UNI Presidential Search Website (uni.edu/presidential-search).

Wohlpart also will participate in a public forum: 

  • Wednesday, November 30, 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Old Central Ballroom of Maucker Union (if questions conclude prior to 3:45 p.m. the forum will end)

Live video streaming of the public forum and a recording upon its conclusion will be available on the UNI Presidential Search Website. A mult box also will be available at the public forum for reporters covering the event.

Wohlpart is one of three finalists participating in a final round of interviews at UNI.  A fourth candidate was invited to be a finalist but withdrew. Following the campus visits, the Board of Regents will convene a meeting on December 6 to interview the candidates and select a new president.

The Board of Regents is a group of nine citizen volunteers who govern the state’s three public universities and two special K-12 schools – the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School – through policymaking, coordination and oversight.
