Kristin Bauer Davis

Kristin Bauer Davis joined the Board of Regents staff in January 2017 as the State Relations Officer for Iowa State University. During her time representing Iowa State University at the Iowa State Capitol, Bauer Davis worked on issues ranging from state funding and infrastructure planning to implications on the Ames campus of policies proposed by lawmakers. In May of 2019, Bauer Davis assumed the role of Associate Counsel and was named Director of Human Resource and Merit Systems in May 2020.

Prior to her time with the Board, Bauer Davis spent nearly seven years as the State Director of Iowa at the National Federation of Independent Business. At NFIB, Bauer Davis was responsible for managing its 11,000 Iowa-based small business members and working with the Iowa legislature on their behalf. Bauer Davis also worked as Director of Government Relations in the telecom industry and as a Research Analyst for the Iowa House of Representatives.

She earned a J.D. from Drake University and a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from the University of Iowa.
