Board of Regents Newsletter: March 2017 Newsletter

The Board of Regents will vote to begin the search process for the 16th President of Iowa State University in a telephonic meeting March 27. 

The Board of Regents, in conjunction with numerous Iowa community colleges, hosted the 2017 Veterans Articulation Conference March 10 at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny. The conference brought together leaders from the Regents enterprise, Iowa community colleges, and the Home Base Iowa program to discuss opportunities for veterans in higher education.

Students from the Iowa School for the Deaf made their annual trip to sign the Pledge of Allegiance at the Iowa State Capitol March 20. The group of 12 students recited the Pledge of Allegiance in American Sign Language on the floor of the House of Representatives to a full house session

David Skorton, current secretary of the Smithsonian Institution and former president of the University of Iowa, will visit campus on March 30 and deliver a talk at Hancher Auditorium titled “Education and What We Value: How STEM and the Liberal Arts Nourish Each Other.”
