Statement from President David Miles Regarding Final Legislative Appropriations Action
The Regents' most important budget request by far was for salary funding. This is critically important for our institutions to be able to keep tuition increases to low levels and at the same time attract and retain the best faculty to teach Iowa students, conduct cutting edge research and provide service to Iowa's families and communities.

(Urbandale, Iowa) – Over the past several days there has been much discussion among policy makers and the press regarding security issues, including arming campus police officers at Iowa’s three public universities. This discussion and strong feelings on both sides of the issue have come about because of the unimaginable tragedy at Virginia Tech University.
Regents Implement New Communications Policy
(Urbandale, Iowa) – The Board of Regents today (Friday) implemented a new policy so its communications will become more transparent for the public.
