Board of Regents Selects Firm to Assist with ISU Presidential Search
The Iowa Board of Regents has selected AGB Search from Washington, D.C. as the firm to assist with the selection of the next president at Iowa State University.
“Selecting a president is the most important role of the Board of Regents,” said Mark Braun, Board of Regents Executive Director. “AGB has an outstanding track record of being able to assist in the recruitment of candidates and the hiring of tremendous university leaders. We are confident that AGB will be able to provide great support to the search committee and Board members during this process.”
Among the duties for AGB in the ISU search will be assisting in defining the goals of the search and developing the position specification and search timeline; identifying, recruiting and cultivating potential candidates for the position of ISU president; assisting in developing and engaging an effective candidate screening procedure; communicating with prospective candidates and facilitating candidate interviews; and conducting background checks on applicants.
For assisting with the search, AGB will be paid a fee equal to 25 percent of the annual base salary contracted for the first year of the appointed candidate, plus expenses.
The Board of Regents is a group of nine citizen volunteers who govern the state’s three public universities through policymaking, coordination and oversight.
