(Urbandale, Iowa) – Executive Director Robert Donley, on behalf of the Board of Regents, congratulates Mark Braun on his appointment as Chief of Staff to President Sally Mason at the University of Iowa. 

(Urbandale, Iowa) – On behalf of the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, President David Miles expresses sadness on the passing of Marvin Pomerantz, who served as president of the Board of Regents from 1987 through 1993, and in 1995-1996. 

The August 2008 Board meeting included the presentation and discussion of several items related to the recent flooding at the University of Iowa, and other natural disasters across the state. 

The letter, which has been made available to the public, offers the Committee’s support and assistance in the re-opened investigation into the handling of an alleged sexual assault on the University of Iowa campus on October 14, 2007.

(Urbandale, Iowa) – Today, Regent Bonnie Campbell, on behalf of the Advisory Committee, formally requested that the Executive Director inform the University of Iowa that the Board Office will review, approve, and pay all invoices from The Stolar Partnership, with the understanding that the University of Iowa will be responsible to reimburse the Board Office using non-taxpayer dollars that may not include tuition funds. 

(Urbandale, Iowa) – In response to 2007 legislation, Iowa’s Regent universities and public community colleges created an Articulation Website, called TransferInIowa.org, that addresses the number one question transfer students ask, "How will my credits transfer?" 

(Urbandale, Iowa) – David Miles, President of the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, expresses thanks to Governor Culver on behalf of the Board of Regents, the University of Iowa, its students and their parents, for the issuance of a Proclamation of Disaster Emergency for the Board of Regents and the University of Iowa. 

(Urbandale, Iowa) – Board of Regents President David Miles, and President Pro Tem Jack Evans, will visit the University of Iowa on Monday, June 23, to observe the massive impact on the University from the historic flooding of the Iowa River. The Regents will be available to meet with the press at 2:30 p.m. in Room 2520D of the University Capitol Centre. 

(Urbandale, Iowa) – The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, has appointed Patrick Clancy to the position of Superintendent of the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School and Administrator of the State System for Vision Services. The announcement was made during a telephonic meeting of the Board this afternoon.
